EAST HONOLULU ROTARIANApril 30th, 2007MAKE UP MEETINGS ON-LINE Did you know you can make up meetings on-line? Go to www.rotaryeclubone.org and spend at least 30 minutes reading the articles. After you complete the on-line make up form, an e-mail will be sent to Aloha Makekau (at hryf@hawaii.rr.com) to confirm your “attendance”. Make ups can be made 14 days before or after your missed meeting. Bob Musgrove is recognized as a Maurice J. Sullivan Fellow for his contribution to the Hawaii Rotary Youth Foundation. East Honolulu charter member Kal Yee is pictured presenting a certificate to Bob. A Maurice J. Sullivan Fellow is someone who has given $1,000 or more to HRYF. This award is in honor of the late Maurice “Sully” Sullivan, founder of Foodland and a revered humanitarian who established HYRF 30 years ago. State of Hawaii medical examiner Dr. Kanthi DeAlwis spoke to the Rotary Club of East Honolulu on April 2, 2007 about the role of the medical examiner’s office. Pictured with Dr. De Alwis is Ruth Chang. Marcelo Doneza is given the Rotary District 5000 Spirit Award by club president Naomi Masuno for his enthusiasm and willingness to help with seemingly every club function or project. Marcelo truly sets the example for all Rotarians. wo high school students (Sianna and Chelsie) from the University Lab School speech team gave oral presentations to the club on April 16, 2007 following their participation in the State Speech Tournament. Mahalo to speech team coach Bill Teter and Rotarian/Lab School alumni Linda Char for arranging this presentation.
