MAKE UP MEETINGS
ON-LINE
Remember, you can make up meetings on-line. Go to
www.rotaryeclubone.org
and spend at least 30 minutes reading the articles. After you complete the
on-line make up form, an e-mail will be sent to Aloha Makekau (at
hryf@hawaii.rr.com)
to confirm your “attendance”. Make ups can be made 14 days before
or after your missed meeting. Now it is easier and more convenient than ever to
do make ups!

Al Takata was
inducted into the Rotary Club of East Honolulu on May 7, 2007. His vocational
classification is Religious Professional. At one time a member of Pearl Harbor
Rotary, Al is re-joining the Rotary world thanks to daughter and fellow East
Honolulu Rotarian Faye Ross.
Elsie
Choy was (re)inducted into the Rotary Club of East Honolulu on May 7, 2007.
Although Elsie comes to us from the Rotary Club of Waikiki, she was a long time
East Honolulu member before then, having led many International Service
projects. Elsie’s vocational classification is Educator, and her sponsor
is Lisa Foster. Pictured is Lisa awarding Elsie the Rotary
pin.
Ken Bailey was
the guest speaker on April 30, 2007. Ken serves as a Volunteer Guardian ad
Litem, representing abused and neglected children in the family court system.
Ken is also a Rotarian and past president of the Rotary Club of Windward
Oahu.
Dr. Tyrie Lee
Jenkins (pictured with club president Naomi Masuno) spoke to the club on
April 23, 2007. Dr. Jenkins is an accomplished ophthalmologist and eye surgeon
who performed Hawaii’s first LASIK procedure in 1997. However, her
presentation to the Rotary Club of East Honolulu was on the influence of eye
disease on famous artists and artwork.
