KALANI INTERACT

The Kalani Interact Club did a highway clean up project on Saturday, September 22. Joining the Interact members were
East Honolulu Rotarians Wayne Nakashima and Les Hidaka. Led by faculty advisor Mark Shanahan, the 2007-08 Interact officers are: President Samantha Chan, Vice President Nick Ha, Secretary Jonathan Shiraki, Treasurer Gavin Hirokane, Historian Vinson Diep, and Social Director Tracey Shigeta. More photos of the highway clean up are on the back of this bulletin.

COMMUNITY SERVICE EVENTS
Your help in manpower, time, and/or donations is needed for some of the upcoming community service projects:

Kaimuki Hoolaulea
November 3, 2007 (Saturday)
9:00 AM - 3:00 PM Kaimuki business area

Palolo Elementary School will have a Ring Toss game booth. Volunteers are needed to man the booth.
This is a day of food, games, crafts, entertainment, etc. Bring your families. See Elsie Choy for details.

Annual Fun Fair (fund raiser) for Palolo School
November 8, 2007 (Thursday)
1:30 PM - 5:00 PM (school dismissed at 1:30 PM)

Needed: Baked goods, white elephant items, clothing, small appliances, household items (pots, pans, dishes, toaster, etc) and food ingredients such as butter, flour, sugar for baked goods. Volunteers are needed to assist the teachers in various areas. Donations for white elephant and clothing are being accepted now.

Park at the cafeteria and inform the office of your contributions. The staff will pick up your donation. You can get a receipt for tax purposes. See Elsie Choy for details.

PAINTING PARTY at THE ARC
November 10 and 11, 2007 (Saturday and Sunday)
Beginning at 8:00 AM at The Arc in Hawaii

Please save one or both of these dates. Refreshments and lunch will be served. Those who choose not to paint should work on the “Shoe Box” project for Palolo. See Colleen Kojima for details
