April 2nd, 2007 East Honolulu Rotarian Newsletter

EAST HONOLULU ROTARIAN
April 2nd, 2007

Rotary Global History Fellowship
Founded in 2000, Rotary Global History Fellowship http://www.rotaryhistoryfellowship.org/   accumulates and preserves the complete history, values and philosophy of the Rotary movement. It contains over 3,000 articles on the history of Rotary International. In addition to preserving history, you could find more about what Rotary does in the "features" section http://www.rghf.org/  including several well known e-newsletter which offer to interested parties for free: "What Paul Harris Said,",  "Why I am a Rotarian," and "Our Foundation Newsletter". Estimated readership is 1,560,000 readers per year as many of the recipients print the features in newsletters and on websites. Many are forwarded to larger audiences.

Membership is only $25 per Rotary year or $100 for five years. This is open to Rotarians, spouses, and Rotaractors worldwide.  Contributions of $100 or more will be acknowledged. Dues and other contributions from members are used to pay internet, convention, and other membership related costs. You can sign up online at www.historycomment.org

Special Rotary Tabloid in Honolulu Advertiser
On Sunday, 5/27/07, a special tabloid in the Honolulu Advertiser entitled “Navigating The Future ... Rotary Leads The Way” will be featured. This special tabloid will communicate the value of Rotary and identify its business sponsors as community-minded organizations. To make the insert work, the Honolulu Advertiser needs sponsors and advertisers. Why become a sponsor?

Make sure consumers know that the Rotary Four-Way Test is practiced by your business. Let other Rotarians know what your business has to offer. Be part of this highly visible publication that celebrates Rotary’s rich history of service in Hawaii. A separate flyer will be sent along with this bulletin with rates and details.

ROTARY BENEFACTOR

A Rotary Benefactor is anyone who informs the Rotary Foundation in writing that he/she has made provisions in his/her will or estate plan naming the Foundation’s Permanent Fund a beneficiary, or has made an outright gift of $1,000 or more to the Permanent Fund. The Permanent Fund builds long-term stability for the future of the Rotary Foundation by providing an extra stream of income to meet increasing demands for the Foundation’s educational, humanitarian, and cultural programs.

PAUL HARRIS FELLOW

Anyone who contributes or in whose name is contributed a gift of $1,000 or more to the Annual Programs Fund of the Rotary Foundation becomes a Paul Harris Fellow. A Rotary Foundation Sustaining Member is an individual who has given, or in whose honor a gift was made, a contribution of $100, with the stated intention of making additional contributions until $1,000 is reached (i.e. working towards a Paul Harris Fellow).
