East Honolulu RC participated with in the District 5000 dictionary project by giving almost 400 dictionaries to 3rd graders at 5 different schools. The schools were Palolo, Waialae and Lilioukalani in the Kaimuki area and Pearl Kai and Waimalu in the Pearl City area. The Pearl City area was chosen because several of the East Honolulu rotarians live there and work in Kaimuki/Kahala.
