PALOLO SHOEBOX and PAINTING PROJECT Photos of the painting and shoebox projects are presented on the backside of this bulletin. On 11/10, members of East Honolulu and Kahala Sunrise Rotary clubs showed up at The Arc in Hawaii on Diamond Head Rd. to paint the gym and to gift wrap shoeboxes to be given to Palolo School students. During the week of 11/19-11/21, our club will need help to transport the wrapped boxes to Palolo School cafeteria, to be stored on the stage. The boxes are already in large plastic bags (thanks to Kevin Wu, Naomi Masuno, Colleen Kojima, etc.) and easily transportable. Sincere appreciation goes out to project chair Ruth Chang. From now through 12/10, the club is collecting donations and cash to buy items (small enough to fit into a shoebox) for the Palolo teachers to stuff into the boxes. Marie of Kahala Sunrise Rotary has also made an announcement at her group meeting regarding donations. Items can be dropped off directly at Palolo School.
On 12/12 Wednesday from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM at Palolo School, East Honolulu members are being asked to help the teachers stuff the boxes. The boxes will be given to the children before their Christmas break. For many of the children, the boxes will be their only Christmas gift, so your help is appreciated to make Christmas happen.
