-PALOLO SCHOOL CHRISTMAS SHOE BOX PROJECT is one of East Honolulu Rotary Club's on going projects, held in December. Members of the club wrapped 300 Christmas shoeboxes and stuffed them with goodies like crayons, notepads, toothbrush, and small toys for the children at Palolo Elementary, many of whom cannot afford slippers to wear to school. Although we, tend to take Christmas for granted, for some of the children at Palolo, the Christmas shoebox was the only gift they received at Christmas. On December 19th, after their Christmas program, Rotarians presented each student with their gift.
The Club also lead Christmas caroling at Leahi Hospital, Kahala Nui and at Palolo Chinese Home, in December, another on going project that provides enjoyment to some of the seniors in our community.
